And he shewed me a pure river of water of life,
clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the
street of it, an on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life, which bare twelve
manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month;
and the leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations. And there shall be no more curse:
but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be
in it; and His servants shall serve Him: and they shall
see His face: and His name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night there: and they need
no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God
giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Revelation 22:1-5
Well, we have come to the last chapter of the book of
Revelation, and the last chapter of the canon of the Bible. Our quest was to find what may be needed to change from the inside/out so that we are an Authentic Christian, not one following lies, or heresies. To be a faithful witness for Jesus Christ. There was not attempt to speculate, or to give false analogies to tickle the ears. Simple, straight forward Biblical teaching as to what is required of men and women who claim to be Christian; and, if there was need to make changes in lives that change was according to the simplicity of the Gospel: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Not creeds, not denominations, not doctrines made by man, not practices, no matter how appropriate, nothing other than pure faith in Jesus Christ, repentance due to the fact that you, and I are sinners against our Holy God. Salvation offered to you by God is just between you and God. We may be able to see pure faith in action but that is the effect due to your repentance and acceptance of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Think about this: you have come to a pure river, just as clear as clear crystal. To be pure is to not be adulterated, not to be an admixture, free from foreign elements, free from contamination. This is exactly what the Greek word means, to be without blemish, free from impurities, and to be cleansed from all sin. It is God, by means of the Lamb and all that the Lamb did upon the cross to make payment for the sin that no man could pay to God: God did this Himself; it flows from God and the Lamb. All you will ever need for eternity comes from this pure water, this river of life. You will be healed, no matter what nation you are of, or what gender you are, this river heals your forever. Authentic Christians show their authenticity by their actions, and by their pure service to God, and for eternity all of God's children will serve Him. You see, God has work for you for eternity. What is this work? Do not know! Doesn't matter, God is my God, is your God and whatever He has planned for me will be good for me and this forever. You will now be able to eat of the tree of life, this tree that was not available to man when Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden.
In this new world, you as the city of God, the temple of God residing in you will never again be affected by curses, or false teaching, or heresies, or to be affected by the culture of this world. You will be as a ruler and reign forever and ever.
God has allowed us to live, this by not destroying the world when sin entered into this world. We live due to His patience, His providence, His economy, and His dispensation. This world is full of beauty, the hills, the snow, the sunset, the sea, the birds, flowers, and all there is to enjoy, you and I can enjoy all this now. this we should do, and at the same time to live as a witness for Jesus Christ who will come one day to end this world. When this occurs, all this beauty will be surpassed by a beauty that we now cannot even imagine. Enjoy life now: but remember and meditate upon this new world whereby you will never, even in all this beauty now, have to suffer also what this world can bring in the way of suffering and pain. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!
For as the new heavens and the new earth,
which I will make, shall remain before me,
