Herein is love, not that we loved God,
but that He loved us, and sent
His Son to Be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought
also to love one another. No man hat seen
God at any time. If we love one another,
God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected
in us. Hereby know we that we that
we dwell in Him, and He in us, because
He hath given us of His Spirit. And we
have seen and do testify that the Father
sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
1John 4:10-14
How can we love one whom we have not seen? How can we believe in this unseen God who says that He is all loving? How can we know that we are saved from the sin(s) that so beset us? Love has an object whether it be a girl, a boy, a wife, a child, or any other living thing that has the capacity to love. God cannot be seen so how can we love this unseen God? How do we know for sure that He loves us? Furthermore, how is it that He dwells in a person? These questions and more are the subject among many people for they cannot understand this type of love for an unseen being. In fact, we have not seen Jesus Christ and yet we say that He is the Savior and died to be a propitiation for sin(s). Of God, Jesus Christ, and even the Holy Spirit all that are unseen, at least to us so how is it we believe and love them, the Godhead? Anyone can love another. People can love for several reasons: i.e., the other person is beautiful, cute, smart, rich, and has a personality that is liked, but all this is shallow love for it is based on shaky ground. This shaky ground can be a lose in riches, or becoming deformed, or ugly, or not as smart as thought to be, or even has a different personality in time all causing the love of another to lose its love for that other person. This shaky love is based on temporal things and all the while it may seem so loving, and it probably was or is, it is not actually a solid love.
God is not of this type of love!
God first must be believed in faith, a faith that is built upon a solid foundation, not faith believing faith but faith that has as it object an immutable being who does not change over time. Look around and see! Look at this world and all that it contains, the life that exists in all its thousands upon thousands of life, from ants, to sub-minature creatures, from birds of all sorts, and animals of all sorts and the fact that this earth exists and exists for them but more it has it priority for existence for man. We alone above all creatures enjoy this world in all its splendor. Animals do not love in this way, they live by intuition and simple necessity giving no thought to this world above what it can give to them, they do not even think of life as does man. This creation requires more than a simple designer, it requires the creator to have and be love so that love can be expressed in His creation.
Man failed and sin and corruption was the result.
Therefore God who loves and is Love does the unthinkable, He satisfies by Himself the debt of injustice owed to Him. This He did by sending to earth His Wisdom to be clothed in flesh and to die a perfect man to be the propitiation for man. Man has a responsibility and that responsibility is to accept His love and this is done by accepting His Only Begotten Son to be their personal Savior and this by faith from the hearing of His word (we cannot see Him), so we study and read His word making our faith, or election by God for all who believe in Jesus Christ to have solid understanding of God and that He is a sure foundation of Love for us and by that we can love Him, and more for by this love we can love others as He loves them.
God does more!
God who is Love and gives to us the ability to love, as He loves and this is done by His revealing to us through those He inspired to write and is shown by our love for our brothers and sisters in Christ funneling down into the secular world. The more that God does for those by faith accept this invisible God, His invisible to us at this time, His Son, gives to us His Holy Spirit. God does not see us as sinners for He sees us through His Son Jesus Christ and by Him, our faith and conversion to Him we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit leading us, if we allow Him to do so, to love others as God loves us.
The object of our love is God, His sent forth Son Jesus Christ which is a never failing love so we have confidence in Him and that confidence is shown in how we love others.
None of this is good for you unless you have made Jesus Christ your personal Savior.
