Who Are You Going To Trust--Yourself Or God?

These things I have spoken
to you, that in Me you may
have peace. In the world
you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

When our religion is made up of the supernatural as many do, and the supernatural is the hallmark of their faith, then God is put on the back seat so to speak. It is then themselves that get the glory even if they give God the glory. It is a backhanded way to say: "see I am a God-fearing person." When troubles come they blame God: "Why God did you let this happen?" We all may have wondered when thing go bad, death, sicknesses, wounded, killed by a drunk driver, etc. It is at these times that the true Authentic Biblical Christian rises above the tribulation of this world for God will not take us out of tribulation, but He will take us through tribulation. Praise God! He has not taken away our humanity, our ability to use this world in either a good way or a bad way. Yet, God will not causing things to happen, that second causes are just that second causes, God will Providentially cause all things to work together for Good (Romans 8:28).  Paul wrote these words: "As it is written: 'For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.' Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us" (Romans 8:28-29).
Yesterday I had my chance to put this truth into action for my sister Margie was hit by a hit and run driver when she was coming home at 2:00 in the morning from caring for a patient, she is a nurse, and now she is in the hospital, intubated, and needing surgery on her foot, and other injuries. Why? Because someone would not follow God's law, they got drunk. God is not at fault, the drunk is and he is to blame for all that happened for he drank to drunkenness even though he knew that he would be incapacitated. But God will use this, as He does in all things, to bring good out of it even if I can't see what that will be.
This is a short blog, must attend to other things, and check on my sister. Here is what I want to admonish; Jesus Christ did not say that He would remove us from trouble, He said that we are blessed even in the face of trouble for He has overcome all evil, and will protect us, and we will be with Him no matter what.

All flesh is as grass,
     and all the glory
of man as the flower
     of the grass.
The grass withers,
    and its flower falls
away, but the word of
    the LORD endures forever.
                             1Peter 1:24-25
Pray for My Sister
