Publicly Declaring Faith In Jesus

Of these things put them in remembrance, 

charging them before the Lord that they strive 

not about words to no profit, but to 

the subverting of the hearers. Study to 

shew thyself approved unto God, a workman

 that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly 

dividing the word of truth. 

2Timothy 2:14-15 

     These words of Paul should activate us to read God's word, to study God's word, to take time to meditate upon 

God's word. This is done, first for your own education, but more than that, this is done to prepare you to be the ambassador of Christ, to be a witness for Jesus Christ,to bring the Gospel into your realm in this world. A question then, due to so many theologies in so many different denominations, that which is confusing, not to just the world, but to honest God fearing men and women, how do we know when Scripture is being rightly divided? It is good to read other materials, but to do so is to be doing this reading with Scripture at hand to determine if what you are reading is actually truth. So then we are commanded to study.

     There is something that seems to be lacking in many Churches and that something is leaving the Creeds behind and almost, if never, reciting them or even speaking about them. No, Creeds do not save you! Only your faith, belief, your repentance before our Savior Jesus Christ, that is the only way to Salvation. But, we live in this world and we are still fallen creatures so we need something to aid us in our faith: "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6). 

     I remember my day of induction into the Navy when we all who were becoming sailors raised our right hand and made a profession, an oath, to protect this country, to be all that a patriot should be, loyal, faithful, and ready to, even if necessary to die, for this country. How much more, then, are we, citizens of Heaven who made an oath, a profession to our eternal King, not be bound to those heavenly oaths? On the day of induction I publicly pronounced this oath of loyalty so we who are professing our obedience and faith to God should also publicly profess our faith: "in the heart it is believed unto righteousness but with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:10). Therefore, those of us who are Authentic Christians holding onto Authentic Christian Faith our faith should be not only preserved in our heart it should be expressed by our lips. 

      The Apostles have handed down to us a rule of faith, a symbol through which those who believe might hold catholic unity a means to aid a person to confound heretical wickedness. This means, this symbol, strengthens our initial act of faith. Furthermore, this symbol, this public profession of our faith binds us together and this is by declaring he Apostles Faith and we have this as found in the Apostles Creed, that which we can publicly profess with others in our worship. 

      A problem that has detrimentally affected the United States is that our schools no longer recite the Pledge of Allegiance. We do not have to look far to see how this lack of publicly, with others, has worked out in all the wickedness that is occurring in our day. Patriotism is at it lowest point for this Pledge, and publicly declaring this Pledge with others has not caused our nation to fare well. This is the same, the same truth withing our Christianity where the Creeds are left in some book, and are not read, or declared publicly. The Creeds are in a orderly outline and gives to us verbal profession and that verbal profession aids in our faith, aids in our everyday walk in this world. So why has these Creeds been left on shelves and spoken about by men are have the command to teach us? What is the motive? What is the agenda? Why do most Christians not even know that there are Creeds and that those Creeds have been part of Church worship for centuries. 

     The Apostles Creed firmly pertain to the rule of true faith and must be faithfully believed, strongly held, truly patiently defended, and if we know anyone to lay down As Christian teaching what is contrary to that which is expressed in the Creeds, we should avoid them like a plague ad cast them out of the Church as heretics. The Creeds are a compass and by this compass we are not led off the path of righteousness. Let us walk in that which we have received and let us firmly persevere. We need to teach this to our children giving them a written rule of faith that they can turn to, learn from, and join together with other like minded Christians. We have the responsibility to protect our children and giving to them instruction so that they may avoid every error and turn from those who are hostile to Authentic Christian Faith. 

       If you do not have the Apostles Creed, you can get one, on the internet, in bookstores, maybe even at your Church. Get it! Read it! Read it out loud! Join with others and read it together! Build each other up in Authentic Christian Faith and the Creeds are way to do that along with reading and studying Scripture. What you do now has everlasting affect for what you put into motion or not, causes other things to be affected, to change, or not to change. The change is from ourselves to change from the inside/out so use all the means available to aid you in this change. God will only work out what you put in so put in His word, profess publicly your faith and then look back and see what God has done through you.
